My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To adopt please fill out an adoption application.

Delilah is a 5 month old female Australian shepherd mix puppy who was left in a box overnight on the porch of a veterinary clinic in MS.  Fortunately, the clinic staff took in Delilah and reached out to us to rehome her with a good family.  Friendly, well-socialized, happy young dog!  High activity level outside, loves to romp outside with the family’s dog and settles down quickly in the house with good house manners. Loves other dogs, fine with cats and living with a cat in her foster home. Great with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older. Loves to swim! It’s believed that Delilah’s tail is naturally docked. Her veterinarian rescuer believes she would do well with Agility Training as she’s so focused and active. Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with her people.  Estimated DOB is 5-1-24. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 20 pounds. Delilah’s ideal adopter will be an active family who has another dog for her to play with and possibly some kids! This is a happy young dog who will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family with kids.

Go meet their pets

All our Good Dogs are in southern foster homes.

More about this rescue

Good Dog Rescue is an all-breed rescue group headquartered in the South. Our group is comprised of volunteers all over the Southeast who love dogs and want to help those that end up homeless through no fault of their own. Loyal and loving dogs turn up every day in Southern shelters, as owners turn them in or they’re found roaming the streets after being dumped. To the best of our abilities, we evaluate all of our Good Dogs’ temperament and suitability for living with other dogs, cats, and children. A dog’s health is checked, and we make sure they are up-to-date on all shots and are spayed or neutered. Then, we place them in loving foster homes until they find their very own family. Our goal is to meet the needs of each dog as an individual and to assure proper placement in a loving forever home.
