My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A volunteer writes:
Muffin can't catch a break! She was adopted shortly after her owner died and now, she is back at the care center as her adopter developed severe allergies to her dander...Although clearly stressed by the shelter environment, Muffin is a strong, independent and resilient senior kitty and I really admire her for this(among other things I love about her!). She rests peacefully on her kuranda bed, grooming herself dutifully and quickly catches the eyes that just fell on her. She is down in no time, a little beauty, elegant, ready for a meet and greet, leaning, purring, rolling on her side, stretching and accepting scratchies all over her body. She is uncomfortable with the overly busy premises and noisy cats surrounding her kennel, which tells me that Muffin's personality and age call for a calm home environment. Muffin has a history of bladder stones  and is on a special diet to prevent them from coming back. Muffin is a dear and very pretty dame I would welcome in my home if I did not have already five pets...Come and meet her at the Manhattan Care Center. She might be the one you have been hoping for...

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

A volunteer writes: The shelter is all very new for Muffin, but she's very admirably committed to staying open minded and curious as she does her best. Curled up on her blankets and observing Adoptions, Muffin makes sense of her normal by good naturedly reaching her adorable paws out in friendship. Muffin was brought to us when her person passed away so we don't know much about her history prior. Since coming to us at the shelter, we know that she enthusiastically accepts all the pets and neck scritches and stays notably and joyfully curious about everything around her. This is what I love about her the most. Muffin's curiosity is such a stand out quality because at 12 years young, she loves to watch the light dance across the floor and for visitors to come in and visit. We're all really hoping the next visitor in will be you.
