Hi, I’m Jennifer (a.k.a Jenny). I’m a 9 pound, 5 year old Maltese and I’m just darling if I do say so myself. I’m fresh out of a puppy mill and this big world is very scary to me right now. People were not very nice to me in the past but here at AAP I’m learning people are kind and snuggles with my foster mom are pretty nice. I’m also learning what toys and chewy bones are and what it feels like to walk on grass (I prance because it feels wonderful). Also for the first time ever I get to sleep in a real bed instead of in a wire cage. I do still frighten easily and am likely to door dash or dart away if given the opportunity (I’m fast). Because of this, I will need a fenced yard and monitoring around doors to the outside world so I don’t take myself on an adventure. A home with adults would probably be best for me also. A small (20 pounds or less), relaxed, confident doggy pal in my new home would also be helpful as I look other dogs to know that everything is ok in the world. I can be a little vocal, so apartment life would probably not be the best fit. I’m working on my potty training (no one bothered to teach me before) so this is a work in progress. I will need a very patient family who will give me time to shine because I am a diamond in the “ruff” and I am going to sparkle. Jenny is spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations, is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. She’s had a dental, is microchipped and dewormed. Jenny’s adoption fee is $350. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. If you're looking for a very sweet and lovable little girl to join your family, please fill out an application on AAP’s website.
