Penny is a sweet, affectionate two year-old mix from Puerto Rico. She has been with her family in NJ since she was a puppy. The family decided to rehome her because they suddenly decided two dogs is too much to care for & they feel their older dog will have a better quality of life. Penny is looking for a forever home that will offer her stability & security. She would be super happy in a home with older children & with no other dogs to push her out. .
All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet. Breed and size is frequently a guess and can not be guaranteed.
Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl.

Meet the Pet
Depending on timing, we cannot guarantee that the pet you apply for will be available when you come to meet our pups.

Sign Adoption Contract
Once you pick out your pup, we will go over all the medical records and you will read and sign the contract

Pay Fee
Adoption fee covers a surgically altered pet up to date on vaccines, a registered microchip, and 30 days of pet insurance.

Take the Pet Home

You must be at least 21 years old, own your home or have lived in your current rental for at least one year. Your lease must specify that you are allowed a pet.

Our dogs and puppies are primarily Sato's, rescued from Puerto Rico in the Rincon area (visit www.barksofhope.com).They are flown to Philadelphia airport, immediately vetted, and treated for internal and external parasites. All our animals are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.
Puerto Rico has a terrible problem with unwanted dogs, litters are discarded on the side of the road, in trash cans, and dumped in the woods. If brought to a shelter, the kill rate is 94%. We are always looking for tourists and business people willing to carry on pups to get them out of a bad situation and into loving, forever homes.
