My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nova! This friendly, wiggly girl came to the shelter with her puppy, who has already found a home, and now it's Nova's turn. She adores getting pets and is ready to charm her way into your heart. Could you be the one to give Nova her happy ending?

Nova is currently eligible for rescue, foster and adoption. Head to ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering her!

Behavioral:
Per volunteer 10/5: Mother/ daughter duo winter and nova are so cute! Nova ( mom I think) was easy to leash and so happy to come out. Very loose, wiggly body language. Her puppy was more hesitant and had to be carried. Outside, Winter opened up some but didn't know how to walk on a leash yet. They both enjoyed taking treats and getting some pets. They did great wearing costumes, meeting strangers and getting their photo taken. A dog approached the fence and Nova did seem to get defensive when her puppy got close - otherwise, she appeared playful. It would be good to try a dog meet without the puppy there.

Per staff on 10/5:
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Nova

KNOWN HISTORY:
APO pickup

KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Nova was sitting on her bed staring at the floor and came up with a wagging tail and soft eyes when I called her over. She was easy to leash and came right out.

LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally

HANDLING:
Once in the eval room, Nova hopped right up on me and is a super cuddly and friendly girl. She loves attention and loves being in your lap with her sweet gentle demeanor, soft eyes and wagging tail. She takes treats very nicely and seems to know a little knowledge of sit but might just be a little stubborn. She loves to give kisses and pressed her entire body on the handler. She is very social and kind and allowed all handling.
PLAY
Is super playful and softly jumps up for play

TOYS:

She loves a squeaky toy and loves bringing toys and treats to the handler.. Dropping them in your lap.
