My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little guy came to us via a neighbor who found him wandering a school yard. We call him Lucky Larry because he is just lucky enough to be found safe and in a loving home.

Larry is a cool puppy, about 6 months old, and appears to be a well-bred pug with no evident breathing issues. His coloring is apricot. He is such a happy dog and wags his tail almost all the time. Larry isn’t into being picked up, but he loves to kiss a lot. 😍 Larry currently lives with 2 other pugs (a boy and a girl) and a female boxer. He warmed up quickly to all of them. Larry loves to wrestle with Lacey the boxer. He shares his toys when he wants to play tug of war. Larry enjoys stealing shoes, socks and ladies’ panties. He wants you chase him around the house to take them back! He will fetch and is learning to give the ball back.

Larry doesn’t like to stay in puppy jail with the other pugs during the day and can jump the gate. He is really good about not pottying in the house during the day. We have a potty pad down and he will use it as necessary. Larry and all the other dogs sleep in bed with his humans. He loves to snuggle but isn’t afraid to sleep on the floor. Wake-up time is reliably 10 minutes before 5 am. He will nibble on fingers and currently still has some baby teeth.

Larry eats dry food, and is food motivated. He enjoys barking with the other dogs in his "big dog" voice. He can be a door darter, so needs care to prevent escape. He has no problems with going out to the back yard especially if he’s got one of his buddies with him. Larry definitely loves to run with the rest of the pack.

Larry would be a wonderful addition to any family, especially one with other dogs. Larry's adoption fee is $450. He is neutered, vet checked, and up to date on vaccines. if you are interested in meeting him, please fill out an application on our homepage at www.luckydogrescue.org

More about this rescue

Lucky Dog Rescue came into existence after one individual started saving one dog at a time back in late March of 2004. It began as a Dalmatian rescue, originally named Phoenix Dalmatian Station.

After seeing so many nice, highly adoptable dogs sitting in concrete cells in the county shelters, being put to sleep when no one came to the rescue, it quickly evolved into an all breed commitment, and we began saving several other breeds and mixes too! We are now a growing group of dog lovers who help all breeds and are committed to giving dogs a second chance at finding a forever home.
