My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Max. I am an adorable West Highland Terrier Mix. I'm a "FOREVER FOSTER", which means that Cross Your Paws Rescue will cover all of my age related medical issues when I am adopted, and my adoption fee will be waived. I am a senior gentleman, around 12 years old and weigh only 16 pounds. I am house trained (with an overnight male wrap), neutered, and up to date on my shots. I have a bit of arthritis in my hips but am a healthy boy! I get along with everyone...other dogs, cats, kids, you name it...as long as they are not too rambunctious or intrusive. I'm a pretty mellow guy and don't bark much so I would do just fine living in an apartment. I can stay home by myself without getting into any trouble...I will just nap while you are gone, but I do expect a treat when you get home! Some of my favorite things are car rides, slow walks on my leash, and of course, treats! If you meet me you will see how handsome I am, with my beautiful pure white coat and perfect erect ears!

If your application is chosen and approved we will setup a meet and greet with the pet. You will hear back regardless if chosen or not.

We place the dogs in the best home not the first home. Please be patient while we go over all apps and we will be in touch.

We are foster based. You must apply on Crossyourpaws.com first. If your application is chosen as the best fit for the dog we will move forward with the approval process. Once approved you will be setup with a time to meet the dog. Our dogs are all over the greater Pittsburgh area.

Our decision to start a rescue is not one that we have taken lightly, it has come after years of volunteer work with other groups. Our goal is to make this world a place where starving, abused animals is a thing of the past. That shelters filled with dogs and cats waiting to be euthanized is unheard of. We want euthanasia to be something to help pets on their way to the Rainbow bridge not to end lives because of overpopulation. We vow to save every life that we can.
