My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tiberius Riker — or Ty, if you’re lucky enough to be his friend.

This 5-year-old, 55 lb sweetheart is ready to find the loving, forever home he’s always deserved.

Ty first joined our rescue as a puppy and was adopted, but life took a difficult turn. After a move across the country, he ended up in a home where he experienced years of mistreatment. Thankfully, his original adopter reached out to return him to us—and since then, Ty has been thriving in a nurturing foster home that’s given him the time, care, and stability to heal.

Ty is goofy, sweet, and relaxed. He’s house and kennel trained, and walks beautifully on a leash and harness. While he’s not the type to chase toys or wrestle with other dogs, he loves being close to his people—snuggled on the couch watching Law & Order or Chopped (he’s a big fan of Chopped). If there’s no room on the couch, he’ll happily curl up at your feet.

He’s a quiet guy, except when he's excited for a walk or hoping for a snack—his favorites are carrots and apples! Ty adores belly rubs, handles brushing like a champ, and only protests when it comes to nail trims (understandable, right?).

Ty has food allergies that require a specific diet—he does well on 4Health Salmon & Potato and receives Cytopoint allergy shots to keep him symptom-free.

He’s done wonderfully with the kids in his foster home, enjoys their company, and loves cuddling up to watch TV with them. He’s also coexisted peacefully with a cat and would be happy with or without another dog in the home.

Ty has been through a lot, and what he needs now is simple: a home full of gentleness, kindness, and consistency. He’s a truly special soul who’s ready to give his heart to a family that will finally give him the love and security he deserves—for the rest of his life.

If you feel that you can give Ty the home life he deserves, you can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application

Ty is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and preventative, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue whose mission is to help unwanted animals in situations that could lead to harm or euthanasia. We primarily focus on animals with major medical illnesses, injuries or advanced age that are often overlooked and usually the first to be at risk of euthanasia. By partnering with shelters and the public, we promote responsible pet ownership, spay and neuter, and the adoption of special needs pets. It is our goal to save the un-savable!
