My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A LOVELY SENIOR SWEETHEART:  Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 15 lbs.

Hi, my name is Khloe!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am grateful for the good care and love I’ve received from the volunteers.  I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived, and I’ve gotten that now, thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization!  Now I’m ready to find a family to love!  I’m with a wonderful foster family now while I wait for my furever family to find me and I’m having a blast living the home life!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I get along very well with my foster family’s 4-year-old dog. She is gentle with me since I am a senior. I share all my toys and chew bones with her. We had another foster dog in the home, and I really liked her too. I enjoyed watching them play like dogs do, but I didn’t try to interact when they were playing rough.  Also, I still need to learn how to play appropriately since I sometimes hump.  I also met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and was interested in them but didn’t play.  If you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet! /  My foster’s older cat does not interest me at all, and I’m careful to avoid getting too close since once he took a swipe! If you have a dog-friendly or dog-tolerant kitty at home, let’s meet. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no young kids that may fall on me and because I guarded my bone once in a temporary foster home.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a loving and happy girl with a calm, friendly nature.  I was so sweet during my bath, and that has been my demeanor overall with the volunteers as well.  I really just love to be near my people.  I’ll follow my foster mom everywhere! You should know that sometimes I can get underfoot, which means I could be a potential tripping hazard.  Though not a lap dog or a dog that wants to be picked up, I am a great people dog who will be your loyal companion. / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  Older dogs CAN learn new tricks, and I’ve learned the ‘sit’ and ‘leave it’ commands.  I also have very good leash manners.  I bet you can teach me even more! / My crate manners are good, though I am not a fan of the crate being closed in my foster home when they have to leave for short periods of time – probably because it keeps me away from people – which I do not like. /  On a regular schedule, my potty habits are excellent in my foster home. Please continue to keep me on a good schedule in my new home and I think I’ll do well once I’ve settled in at my new home.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy playing with fluffy squeaky toys and chewing on Nylabones. When it is time to chill, I like snuggling in soft pillows and blankets. I like to sleep on my dog bed on the floor next to my foster parent’s bed, but never on it! I also like to take walks and run around the backyard with the other dogs in my foster family’s home. / I would benefit from a stay-at-home family member, as I don’t like to be left alone – or even separated from my people by closed doors.  I am a bit of a nervous car rider, too.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I also received my dental cleaning, so my breath is fresh, and my teeth are shiny clean!

I’m looking for a wonderful home where I can live out my golden years in joyful bliss!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
