My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A LOVELY SENIOR SWEETHEART:  Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 15 lbs.

Hi, my name is Khloe!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am grateful for the good care and love I’m getting here from the volunteers, and a temporary foster home that I visited for a couple days.  I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived, and I’ve gotten that now thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization!  Now I’m ready to find a family to love!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no young kids that may fall on me and because I guarded my bone in my temporary foster home.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a loving and happy girl with a calm, friendly nature.  I was so sweet during my bath, and that has been my demeanor overall with the volunteers as well.  I visited a home recently where I showed my playful side.  I’m a people dog who will be your loyal companion. / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  Older dogs CAN learn new tricks, and I’ve learned the ‘sit’ and ‘leave it’ commands.  I also have very good leash manners.  I bet you can teach me even more! / My crate manners seem ok at the shelter, though I was not a fan of the crate being closed in my short break foster home – probably because it keeps me away from people – which I do not like. / I’ve only had a couple of accidents on the shelter schedule, and my potty habits were good in my short break foster home.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, and I think I’ll do well once I’ve settled in at my new home.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  In my temp. foster home, I enjoyed playing with fluffy squeaky toys and chewing on Nylabones (though I did guard my bone at times).  When it is time to chill, I like snuggling in soft pillows and blankets. / I would benefit from a stay-at-home family member, as I don’t like to be left alone – or even separated from my people by closed doors.  I am a bit of a nervous car rider, too.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I’m looking for a wonderful home where I can live out my golden years in joyful bliss!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
