My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sherry von Sehnde is a gorgeous,1-2 year-old German Shepherd. Sherry met her best buddy Oliver at the rescue and soon they were inseparable, so they are looking for a home where they can stay together forever. They room together, cuddle together and play together. Their bond is undeniable and since being with Oliver, Sherry's confidence has blossomed. Sherry's medium energy level makes her the perfect companion for anyone seeking a dog who can enjoy playful moments and calm time alike. She walks well with other dogs and meets new canine friends face-to-face with no problems. Sherry is diligently working on her commands and takes treats gently. In playgroups, she explores the yard and meets other dogs, proving herself a great greeter and a girl with a delicate play-style who enjoys following Oliver and engaging in cute antics. Her confidence has soared with him by her side. This beauty has also tested well with cats! Sherry and Oliver are the perfect duo, and they are eagerly awaiting a loving home where they can continue their journey together. Make this special pair a part of your family today and experience the joy they bring!

Rescued from the Carson animal shelter.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
