Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pharaoh von Prenzlau is a stunning 2 year old German Shepherd. This handsome boy with the classic black and red plush coat is a sweet and smart boy. He'll rub on you while you pet him. Pharaoh is very praise and treat motivated. He’s already learned basic skills like sit and down. He even knows how to shake and takes treats gently. Likely housebroken, Pharaoh has a good medium energy level and he looks forwards to his walks. He comes out ready to go and to say hello to everyone and everything. Pharaoh meets dogs well on leash and off. He’s been getting good marks in playgroup and greets new friends eagerly. He came to the rescue from a high desert shelter and is eager to find a loving new home where he can continue to learn. (No cats please.) So if Pharaoh seems like the hunk for you, fill out the application linked below.
Rescued from the Apple Valley animal shelter.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
