Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meow! I'm Helena! I'm a talkative kitty who can be shy sometimes. I am perfectly calm and gentle with people though. I love petting and I will purr and drool when happy. I am a lap cat when I feel safe. I was surrendered to a vet clinic when my person said I wouldn't use the litterbox. The person would yell at me and had other animals I was probably reacting to. I have had no issues using the litterbox here in the shelter. I'm very demure and very respectful. I would love to show you who sweet I am. I would probably do best as an only cat.

You are welcome to come into our shelter to visit the cats during our regular business hours before or after turning in an application.

Animal Aid of Portland is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue and welfare organization, passionately serving animals and the people they love since 1969. It is our mission to enhance the welfare of companion animals through individualized care and lifelong commitment, rescue and adoption, resources and education, and community partnerships. We operate a free-roam shelter for cats; a foster program for dogs and cats; It Takes a Pack, a community-driven animal care supply sharing initiative; and the Animal Aid Cares Fund, a partnership with veterinarians, trainers, and behaviorists in Portland to provide financial assistance for urgent medical and behavioral care.
