My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Age: 4
Approximate Weight: 44.6

Meet Summer!
Shy but Sweet: Initially timid with new people and environments, Summer warms up over time and has a gentle, loving nature.
Crate Comfort: Her crate is her safe haven, and she feels most secure when it's partially covered. She does wonderfully when crated.
Food Habits: No food aggression, but she's sneaky and might steal your snacks if you're not looking! She eats well but prefers to eat once you step away.
Noise Sensitive: Loud sounds, sudden movements, and being approached directly can startle her, but she's learning to feel more secure each day.
Couch Cuddler: Summer has discovered the joy of snuggling on the couch with her foster sisters and her foster mom-she's realizing not all people are bad.
Playful Spirit Emerging: She's starting to play with her foster sisters, enjoys chew toys, and has her own plushy for snuggling in her crate.
Car Rides: She's still scared of car rides and will need to be transported in a crate for now, but with time and patience, this can improve.
Summer is heartworm positive. She will need to be treated with 28 days of doxycycline (an inexpensive antibiotic) before she can receive heartworm injections. You can still adopt her, but the cost of the treatment will become your responsibility, ODHS always recommends you contact a vet to price this treatment if you are interested in adopting her beforehand. https://www.heartwormsociety.org/

Summer is looking for a quiet, understanding home where she can continue to build her confidence. With love and patience, she's sure to become the perfect companion.

What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there's official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance.
