My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paxton came to us as part of a backyard breeding mill/hoarder bust in Florida, where almost 150 dogs were living in complete filth. Thankfully, he and his three Chihuahua buddies are now in our care and are ready for their forever homes!

Paxton is shy and mysterious. In another life, it's easy to imagine this handsome guy taking on a few different roles. Male model? Secret spy agent? Bartender serving up dirty martinis as he charms all the ladies? While this life has not been kind to him so far, Paxton is ready for his forever best friend to help turn things around so he can live out all of his luxurious alter egos!

This little guy has a playful side, too-he loves climbing, jumping on everything, and stealing food and treats from his adopted siblings. He has medium energy, making him a perfect fit for a quiet and patient home with other dogs who can show him what life is like in a safe and loving environment. His gorgeous coat and big, round eyes are sure to steal everyone's hearts.

If you and your fur friends are ready to show Paxton how friendly the world can be to cuties like him, reach out to Alive today!

Must go to a home with a resident dog(s) or 2 of the Chihuahuas adopted together.

More about this rescue

ALIVE Rescue is a sustainable animal rescue group committed to protecting the lives and rights of animals. We believe that every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. Our rescue permanently houses and cares for the animals that cannot be placed into forever homes for the duration of their natural lives. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health, and/or breed. At ALIVE Rescue, we promote sustainable living and care-giving by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment within our communities. We constantly work to educate the public on current animal issues, including the benefits of spaying/neutering pets.

Since our formation in 2008, ALIVE Rescue has rescued more than 1,600 animals in the Chicago area.
