My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application.

Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website.

We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run.

We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have.

Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.

Personality | Goose is described as a submissive, independent girl. Goose loves to lounge in the sun in the back yard. She's very easy going and doesn't demand a lot from her owners, but she is affectionate and enjoys pets when offered.

Story | Goose was surrendered to MHLRM with her brother Jack. Unfortunately a young child in the home has severe dog allergies, and Goose and Jack's family has made the difficult decision to rehome the pair for the health of their child. They have lived in a home with the family since puppyhood.

Other Dogs | Goose is submissive with other dogs. She greets them nicely on leash and enjoys playing with them. She is used to living in a home with other large dogs. Although another dog is not a requirement for Goose, there may be an adjustment period if she transitions to a single dog home.

Cats | Unknown.

Children | Goose is great with kids! She's the perfect family dog. She currently lives with twin newbors, a two year old and a four year old. She is gentle and loving to each of them.

Training | Goose is one smart dog. She knows basic commands and listens well. She is house trained and does not need a crate when left alone. Although like most Labs, Goose is very motivated by food. She will grab things off the counter if within reach. This behavior can be easily corrected with time and training. Goose sleeps nicely on a dog bed at night.

Leash | She is decent on a leash but can pull a little. She has amazing recall and often goes off leash at her family's 40 acre property. She is ready for lots of hikes in the mountains!

Activity Level | Medium. Goose is by no means a crazy, energetic Lab, however, we believe a regular routine that includes exercise and socialization will serve her well. She's happy to snooze most of the day.

Health Notes | Healthy! Goose is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

Thank you!

Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).

Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process.

Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption.

We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!

We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
