Meet Balto! This stunning 3-year-old, 61-pound husky/pittie mix has the most captivating heterochromia eyes—one blue and the other half-blue, half-brown. His unique eyes, paired with his adorable face, will have you falling in love instantly! Balto is not only handsome but also incredibly affectionate, always gazing up at you with loving eyes and ready for pets and attention.
Balto is a playful boy full of energy, and he loves to have fun! He enjoys tug-of-war, chasing after balls, and playing with toys, making him the perfect match for an adopter who enjoys an active lifestyle. He seems to thrive on adventure, as evidenced by his love for car rides and exploring the great outdoors. Balto would do wonderfully with someone who hikes or runs—he’s always ready to be on the move!
During a recent field trip, Balto showed fantastic leash skills and zero reactivity toward other dogs. He walked confidently through busy pedestrian-filled sidewalks and didn’t react when bikes passed by. Impressively, when he spotted a cat just a few feet away, he simply looked and kept moving. He also showed no interest in squirrels running nearby, making him an excellent companion for a variety of households.
Though Balto is not overly kissy or huggy, he does enjoy a good snuggle session. He happily accepted a bear hug before returning to his exploration of the park—proving he’s a perfect balance of affectionate and independent.
Balto does well with other dogs, though he may need some supervision with larger males. He would thrive in a home with another gentle, social dog or as a solo pup with well-matched dog friends. While he can get a little vocal when excited, it only adds to his charm!
This handsome guy will benefit from a patient adopter who can give him time to decompress from the shelter environment and help him settle into a comfortable routine. If you're looking for a stunning, fun-loving, and affectionate companion, Balto is ready to bring joy and love into your life!
