My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB March 25, 2022.

Redefining elegance, meet the exceptionally handsome Marshmallow. With a face that instantly charms, bright blue eyes and a snaggletooth that's beyond adorable - he's waiting for someone who will give him all the attention he craves. In fact, Marshmallow is happiest when other people are around! While he loves attention from his human, he'll also happily entertain himself by darting across the room and sliding through his play tunnels. He's got a strong hunting instinct and adores dangly and fast moving toys to chase and pounce on, especially his "Da bird" wand. He loves to race around with the feathers in his mouth all proud of his fresh catch. Marshmallow also adores tall sisal scratching posts, and is endlessly fascinated by surfaces in your home. He's a bit of an explorer so having space to roam will be a thrill for him! When play time is done, Marshmallow seeks out a cozy spot to settle in for a deep snooze session. He plays hard and naps even harder.
When it's time for a drink of water, Marshmallow's top choice is directly from the tap, and he's recently been introduced to a faucet style fountain. His foster home can share more details on the specific one, which he has learned to use (and only occasionally dunks his head under by mistake, silly boy). With his long soft fur, a regular brushing routine will keep Marshmallow looking his best, and a gentle eye wipe a few times a week will keep those blue eyes nice and bright.
Note from Marshmallow's foster family:
Marshmallow would do amazingly with a patient adopter who can provide the companionship he desires and continue to be a cheerleader for the amazing progress he has shown since his life as a stray. In his time in foster we've learned he's a tidy cat who does best when his specific litter preferences are met. He's happiest using a clean litter box that he can have all to himself, with really high edges to stretch up on and clean his paws on. He's also done very well with cassava style litter. His foster home would be delighted to discuss what he loves best.
He's got quite a goofy side and has been caught chasing and pouncing on his own shadow.
Marshmallow was a stray cat, from Toronto.
Marshmallow is deaf so when he's napping he'll sleep very soundly, but all he needs is a gentle pat on the ground nearby to wake him from his slumber. This also means he sometimes has a powerful meow, which he only tends to use when he'd really love your attention, such as meal time or to check in on where you are. He is currently on a special diet of wet and dry gastro food that he really enjoys, and so does his tummy!
Marshmallow has come such a long way and will only continue to flourish in a safe and stable home with patient and loving humans to return the favour. The longer he has to adapt to a new setting the more independent he'll become (though he'll aways be happiest when his human bestie is around). He was fostered on his own but has been around other cats previously, so may do well meeting a new kitty companion, just as long as the introductions are slow and he has his very own litter box.
Marshmallow is quite the character and all the effort you put in to care for him will be returned to you with an abundance of love well worth your time. (You can see more photos on his foster home's instagram @soosancatfoster).

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
