Lady came to us from the City of Houston animal shelter. We met her at our rescue ranch after she was pulled from the shelter. We could tell she was well spirited, but it was clear that she had been neglected and had a little bit of skin issues. She played well with other dogs and enjoyed a medicated bath. Since then, she has been on preventatives for the fleas and skin is looking so much better (her fur is still growing back). She really loves to play with balls and other toys. We would classify her as having medium-high energy once she comes out of her shell, but with sufficient exercise and play she becomes a great relaxed dog. She is looking for a family to help her gain self-confidence and take her on lots of adventures. She is a bit vocal if left unattended in the kennel, so we are looking for a single or detached home, just to be safe. She is good with kids, however she does have a bad habit of jumping on people, so this is something that will need to be worked on. Overall, this black beauty will make a wonderful companion!

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue is looking for committed adopters, ready to bring a rescue dog into their life. In order to ensure that we find the best homes for our dogs, adoption applicants must go through an adoption approval process. We receive a number of applications for each dog and only one will be chosen as the successful candidate. Candidates are selected based on the dog's needs. Not being selected for the dog that you applied for does not disqualify you from adopting from us in the future.

Go meet their pets

We do our very best to place our dogs into adoptive homes before they arrive into Canada. This ensures that they have a safe and loving place to go after their long journey up North. All dogs adopted through R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter. This means that the adoptive family has 15 days to determine that dog is a good fit for them. Although it may feel scary to not meet the dog before adopting, the 15 day period allows you to get to know the dog within your home. If you buy a dog off of Kijiji or at a local shelter you may be given a couple hours to meet the dog. We believe that our program's 15 day probation provides much more insight into how he or she will fit into your home, rather than. a brief meet and greet.

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue was founded in 2020 by a small group of young women with one thing is common: a love for dogs. Since establishment, RDR has successfully found forever homed for over 700 dogs. Our mission is to rescue dogs in dire situations and give them a second chance at life through education and empowerment. All of our dogs come the streets and shelters across Texas, where they are experiencing a dog overpopulation crisis. Our team has travelled to the State to see first-hand how we can help and make a difference in the lives of animals.
