Welcome River!

River has joins us from the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility in Jackson. This handsome little guy, about a year and a half old, was a surrender who passed all temperament testing. While he was available for adoption, the stress of shelter life was really getting to him, and we knew we had to help him on his next journey.

Shelters everywhere, including NJ, are overflowing and in crisis mode, but the staff and volunteers are doing everything they can, and we’re grateful for their care!

River was starting to shut down and became so overwhelmed that he didn’t even want to go for walks—he’d rather hop on a bench and snuggle into laps for comfort. He just loves being outdoors and being loved on. 💙

River will be staying in boarding for now, but we’ll ensure he gets plenty of enrichment, walks, and outings as we search for his foster or forever home. This little guy weighs under 50 lbs and is full of love to give. We can’t wait to see him snuggling on a big comfy bed in a home! 🙏🏼💙🐾
