Introducing Thor!! The handsomest good boy around.
This guy's story starts off when he was at a high kill shelter in Houston as a small puppy. At 3 months old he was adopted. Fast forward 1 year and he was found as a stray, when they called the number on his microchip no one answered and it was clear they weren't looking for him.
That's right his 'family' dumped him to fend for himself once he wasn't a tiny puppy anymore. Nothing infuriates us more!! So when we saw that he was back at the shelter and on the euthanasia list we knew we couldn't fail him; people had already done that enough in his short life.
Now on to the good part. Thor is a ray of sunshine!! You would never in a million years know his past has been such a hard one. He has never met a stranger and loves all dogs he has met. He is food motivated and is catching on quick to commands including sit and wait. He is already potty trained and is working on kennel training. He is super cuddly and absolute adores being close to his foster parents. He walks amazingly on leash and would be a great hiking or adventure companion. He is a medium energy guy so doesn't need a crazy amount of exercise to be happy but he'd do great with a super active person too. He is easily adaptable and mostly just wants to be included.
He is one of the good ones and we can't wait to find him a real forever home that will love him for the rest of his days.
Thor is being fostered in Houston, Texas but is available for adoption in many locations around the country. He is 1yr old and currently weighs 52 pounds. We think he is a GSD mix, but of course that is just our best guess.
