My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Welcome to POSO sweet River Girl!

This California girl came into our rescue in October and has made some incredible progress since arriving!

Rivers Checklist:

1. Must have another confident dog in the home as she loves to follow dogs around and it is helping her get confident, go on walks and learn how to be a true dog.
2. She is a dog that is going to take awhile to allow pets. After she trusts you, you can give her gentle pets at her wishes. She isnt aggressive at all just fearful
3. She loves toys, treats, her crate, and other dogs. She is still a playful and energetic dog that needs to get that energy out
4. If you have a yard, fence must be very secure. When she gets scared she does run to the door of the home to go into and hide. (yard not required but would be helpful) Busy neighborhoods are going to be tough for her right now but has been great on walks with another dog
5. A calm, quiet home would be best so young kids running around and screaming will not be good for her at this time

comes with 2 free dog training sessions and is currently being fostered by a dog trainer

More about this rescue

“A Dog Rescue Doing More than Dog Rescue”
We are a young rescue (3rd year anniversary in Jan 2023), but we are here to lead the way of what rescue actually means and set the standard so others can follow.

We are doing more than just rescuing the dog.
We hold monthly group training classes for the community (yes, even those without rescue dogs).

We provide free training for our foster families.
We provide free training for our adoptive families.
We are doing more than just rescuing the dog, we are changing the pattern of surrendering by providing knowledge and education through our community.
It seems like a simple thought of course, but one that many rescue groups do not follow.
