My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The meaning behind Zuccherino’s name—“Little Sweetness”—perfectly sums up this little guy’s charm. A well balanced blend of playful, curious, and affectionate, Zuccherino is the quintessential dream kitty. He is always in a good mood! As a young stray, he was found outside all alone, but fortunately he wandered into the right human’s door. Zuch was taken in, flea treated, neutered, vaccinated, and tested for FeLV and FIV (both negative). At the ripe age of approximately one year, playtime is priority #1 for this energetic boy. Zuccherino loves to spend his days scampering around his foster room, a sewing studio, wrestling with fabric scraps and chasing toys. Because he is still young, Zuch is very active and loves to tire himself out by running and jumping into piles of fabric or paper bags. He has an adorable habit of sharing a chair with his foster mom while she sews. When Zuch gets sleepy, he loves to nap on a couch, or better yet, this cuddle bug loves to take a snooze while snuggling into the warmth of a human.

Zuch is an independent guy and could be adopted alone as long as his person gives him the playtime he needs—he loves interacting with people, so someone who wants to reciprocate that attention would be perfect for him. Based on a meet n’ greet with another household cat that went well, Zuccherino could be slowly introduced into a family with a cat. Zuch has not been around dogs or children, but potentially could get along with them as long as they are gentle and give him space when needed.

Zuch uses his litter box like a champ and has never had a single accident. He is not a picky eater and loves both wet and dry food and treats, of course. He is very chatty, especially at meal time, when he shows off his healthy appetite.

By bringing little Zuccherino home, you would be giving him a happy ending to his story: a safe environment with a kind and loving family to share a happy and full life together. Please consider meeting him and welcoming this adorable rescue kitty into your family.

Zuccherino Marsella is a year old and is neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained.

* You must be 18 or older to adopt. If you’re under 18, you must have a parent or guardian submit an application on your behalf.
* All cats must be kept indoors. In special circumstances, we may waive this requirement on a case-by-case basis.
* We do not adopt to any home that will declaw an animal. Declawing is cruel and unnecessary.
* All cats/kittens must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
* Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or into a home with another active cat or cat-friendly dog.
* Your adoption fee helps to cover a small part of the costs of veterinary care. However, we strongly recommend that you take your new kitty to your vet for a check-up shortly after adopting to establish a relationship and a lifetime of regular check-ups and care.
