My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Remi is a smart, good boy! A 5-year-old 65-lb Australian Shepherd. Remi is shy at first, but extremely loving and personable after you meet him, and will follow you around everywhere. He just loves being around his people. He loves hugs, playing, and sniffing everything. Remi is up-to-date on all things medical and is good at being boarded. Remi has a high energy level, and he loves to play with toys and play chase. He is good with other dogs but may need an adjustment period, in the beginning, to become familiar with everyone. He can be a bit nervous when meeting new people and dogs, which means he will bark and run away before he gets used to the people or other animals. Remi loves his backyard—and he needs a lot of running and playing throughout the day. He is a great cuddler once you get to know him. While he may bark in the beginning, as soon as he feels comfortable with you, he will be attached. He is also a good “alert” dog and will bark at strangers if they come close to the house or yard. As was mentioned, Remi does great at boarding, and playing with other dogs, and can be crated for short periods. He is smart and listens well—he knows “come”, “sit”, “stay” and other basic commands, as well as he listens when you are trying to get him to go certain places (like, “go over here!” etc). Ideally, Remi can find a home where owners have time and attention to spend loving him. Remi is a good boy, but he needs more attention than what we can currently provide him. With multiple young children, we find ourselves wishing Remi had a different environment where he could get more special attention and go on walks or play individually with us. We hope we can find him a home where he will get the attention he deserves. Remi is a great companion and will play with you and protect you with his whole being.
