My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Sophie, I am 7yrs young, house trained, love long car rides, and used to living in an apartment.  I have dark brown eyes that will melt your heart. I am very loving and bond with people very fast. I just adore being with my people (and my toys!).  My previous mom had to move and was unable to take me with her. On my arrival at CVAS they spoke with my previous mom to get some more insight into what makes me tick.  Living in an apartment I am used to always being on a leash when outside. I am not used to kennels except when used for punishment, CVAS recommends training me that a kennel is okay and not a bad thing. My understanding of commands is small, Sit is it, and that is food motivated. My bad habit is stealing items I think should be mine and then being aggressive when someone attempts to take them back. I like to steal food left at head height, I like pill bottles and can get them open. My previous mom said she would either let me have what I took, or she would try swapping for another item. Because of this CVAS would like me placed in a home WITHOUT children, they are afraid I may want one of their toys or snacks. I like adventures with humans, but I am not crazy about other dogs.  Their sniffing my butt drives me crazy!  I give a little growl if they check me out for too long. I would love a home with someone who can be with me all the time, like a retired person or someone who works from home? Don't let my write up turn you away from meeting me. It is best to know about my quirks.  Being new to CVAS I am shy and need to warm up to you, come and meet me.  Let's go on a walk together, stop at the picnic benches and gaze into each other’s eyes.
