My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bernadette is a sweet and mellow senior Saint Bernard with an estimated birthdate of 02/13/2017. She came to the Mission from our partners at SCRAPS.

Bernadette arrived to SCRAPS with a severe flea infestation and was predominantly bald. She has been treated for fleas and is also currently taking apoquel daily to reduce environmental allergies, and her coat is coming back in already!

Bernadette is so chill that she would fit into any family with room for another dog in the heart and home. She is OK with respectful  children and dogs, but needs a cat free home. She is crate trained and house trained, but would likely also happily lounge on the rug doing nothing much all day.

To be considered to adopt Bernadette, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.  Bernadette is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Because she is a senior, her adoption fee is waived and her adoption includes her leash, collar, ID tag, food sample, medical records and any remaining or continuing medications.

Thank you for checking out Bernadette!

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
