My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lila, the enchanting senior black cat who is ready to find her forever home! With her plush, round figure and soulful amber eyes, Lila may be a little on the heavier side, but her heart is as big as she is. Though she takes her time to warm up to new friends, once she feels comfortable, she reveals her loving personality and enjoys gentle head scratches and cozy cuddle sessions. Lila brings a touch of elegance and serenity wherever she goes, often finding the coziest spots to bask in the sun or observe her surroundings with a regal air.

This sweet girl would thrive in a quiet, understanding home where she can bask in the love of her new family on her own terms. If you're willing to give Lila the patience and space she deserves, you'll be rewarded with the loyal companionship of a true feline friend. Join Lila on her journey to trust, and together, you can create a beautiful bond that will last a lifetime. Would you consider giving Lila the warm and loving home she's been dreaming of?

Additional adoption info

We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!

Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.

When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.

What you will need in order to adopt:

A valid photo ID with your current address.

We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.

Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.

Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
