My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there! My name is Quandary. At times I live up to my name, I am sometimes uncertain about my surroundings! quandary/kw nd()r/
noun:
a state of perplexity or uncertainty over what to do in a difficult situation.
When this happens I like to hide under my blankies!

A fun fact an Orange Cat: Pheomelanin Pigment Is Responsible for Their Color
Similar to humans with red hair, orange cats have a pigment called pheomelanin in their hair shafts due to an unknown genetic mechanism that causes suppression of the black-brownish standard eumelanin pigment in favor of pheomelanin. This pigment is responsible for all ginger cats and their human counterparts. Some redheads are known for their bold, fiery personalities. Does the same trait extend to our feline friends? With orange tabbies, like with other cats, it's purely individual!

Additional adoption info

Adoptable animals are located at our Taft Campus at 2200 N Taft Hill Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80524 or for more info call 970-484-8516.

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.

Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.

We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.
