My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wesley is a senior sweetheart looking for a new home after his living situation changed abruptly. Once you read about how great he is, we hope you'll decide you need him as part of your family.

This good boy is a top-notch cuddler. At eight years old he enjoys a walk or a good game of fetch, but he enjoys relaxing and snuggling even more. He's housetrained and crate-trained, and walks well on a harness. He's already a pro at the basic commands: sit, stay, come, shake and speak. He loves treats and petting, so you can have fun moving on to some fun tricks-for-treats, or just offer snacks and love all on their own.

If you're looking for a family dog, look no further. Wesley lived happily with children as young as three years old, so we'll have you bring the whole family here for their first introduction. He also got along well with the cats in his previous home, so if you've got cats you can ask your counselor for tips on the best way to introduce them at home. Wesley's not a fan of other dogs, though, so he does need to be your one and only canine companion.

One last thing. Here's a bonus for any adopter who's at least sixty. Because Wesley is older than six, he's part of our senior-for-senior program and can go home with you for free.

Are you ready to offer Wesley the cushy life he deserves? Why not take a ride out here to Lollypop Farm to meet him and our other available dogs? Your newest family member just might be waiting for you right here.

More about this shelter

Mission:
Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, works together with our community better the lives of animals through justice, prevention, and life-saving care.

Vision: A just and compassionate world for all animals.

Lollypop Farm is not your typical animal welfare organization. We don’t classify ourselves as merely a shelter, simply taking in and rehoming pets. Rather, we are your partner. We’ll work with you to build a just and compassionate world for all animals–to save animals from abuse and suffering, to find a resource to keep your pet, to guide you in adopting a new pet, to make the tough decision to say goodbye to your family friend or to share information on how to help animals in your daily life.
