My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is our Bella girl. Bella is a 7-8 month old female husky/pomeranian mix. She is about 25 lbs and a total love bug. She unfortunately had a rough start as she was rescued from a mass-production puppy mill. Thankfully a wonderful rescue saved her and her siblings and transferred them to CRA where they had wonderful foster homes waiting. Things to know about Bella: She is making great progress in crate and potty training and will continue to do so with proper structure. She is a puppy, with puppy energy. Exercise and mental stimulation will set her up for success and allow her to release her energy! She doesn't need another dog but definitely would benefit if you have one. She sometimes does get a bit car sick but we are working on building confidence and she does great with anti-nausea medications for longer rides! Bella is accepting applications within 3 hours of Chicago. Her adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccines, up-to-date preventatives, microchip, deworming and spay. If you are interested in being considered as a forever home for Bella, please apply directly here! If you have any questions before applying please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org If you are viewing from adopt-a-pet to be considered a potential home for this dog please head to our website www.chicagorescueauthority.org and click on our adopt tab to apply directly!

Additional adoption info

Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet’s permanent home. These steps ensure that we have all the information needed to make the best placement for you or your family.

More about this rescue

At Chicago Rescue Authority, our mission is to create a compassionate world where every animal is treated with love, respect, and dignity. We are dedicated to educating the public about the adverse realities of the mass-production industry for puppies, raising awareness about responsible pet adoption and ownership, and actively working towards reducing the overpopulation of dogs in shelters.

Our promise to Chicago is to build our rescue on the tenets of teamwork, education and compassion. We will listen to the concerns and ideas of those around us and be ready to grow alongside this rescue and this mission.

Volunteers, fosters, donors and adopters will be the backbone of this organization, just like every other animal welfare non-profit. We will be hosting a variety of fundraisers and mixers throughout the year aimed at building our support network. We can’t wait to meet all the animals whose lives we are going to change!
