Starr is a cat who gets to know you before she trusts you. She is a stereotypical cat, in that you need to prove your worthiness to her before seeing how loving she can be! Starr definitely lived with a family because she came in with a collar reading “Starr Butterfly” (so sad!!) but we do not recommend that she live with children because she can hiss or throw paws (not claws) when startled. She does not like other cats and would do best in a calm, quiet home with an experienced owner! She is truly a sweet girl who just needs a second chance, and someone who can see past her self-protective exterior to her genuine nature.

We ask all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application which allows us to check certain points of reference (vets, home ownership status, previous pets, etc). If the application looks good, the adopter signs the adoption contract which states, among other things, the animal(s) will have a permanent home with said adopter and if for any reason this becomes impossible, the animal must be returned to Four Legs Good. Four Legs Good reserves the right to place a follow-up phone call or visit, with notice, within the first year of adoption.

Four Legs Good is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing the most humane treatment of Rockland County animals in need. We started as a small group of dedicated volunteers who decided to make a difference in the lives of feral, homeless and abandoned animals. We are currently working out of the RG CARES Animal Shelter.
