My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Cappuccino, one of the 'coffee kid' puppies looking for homes here at Taysia Blue! I'm strong and sweet with a shot of espresso for energy! I'm still just a youngster and I'm looking for someone to teach me all the things.

I came to rescue in Arkansas on a plane from Mississippi! I had lots of kinds of wormies that made me not feel the greatest, but now I'm healthy and happily doing normal fun puppy stuff! I love playing with my littermate siblings. I also love food ... so much that I need to eat separately from other dogs so I don't start an argument. I am ready to find my forever home. Could it be with you?? Fill out an application and mention me, Cappuccino!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our Adoption Process

After you submit your adoption application, a Taysia Blue volunteer will contact you within 2-3 days. We are most interested in which type dog will be a good fit for you and your family and the other pets in your home. We will contact your references. This may take a couple days depending on the availability of the reference. We will also contact you by phone to learn more about the dog you're looking for and to review the current available dogs in our rescue.

We will schedule an appointment for a home visit where we will bring one to three dogs that would be a good fit for your family. If a match is made, we can complete the adoption process at that time. If we don't find the perfect match, we'll keep trying till we do!

We hope that your home is the very last stop on the dog's journey and we do all we can to help you and your dog make the transition easier, including providing you with an information packet loaded with tips and resources.

Our quality standard vet care is as follows:

• Spay/Neuter - All dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to being adopted.

• Heartworm Test - If the heartworm test is negative, the dog is placed on regular heartworm preventative. If the heartworm test is positive, the dog is treated to eradicate the heartworms and then placed on regular heartworm
preventative.

• Rabies vaccination

• DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo) vaccination

• Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccination

• Flea and tick preventative

• Microchip

Our adoption donation requirements are as follows:

• Puppies 6 months of age or younger require a donation of $350.

• Dogs over 6 months and under 8 years old require a donation of $300.

• Dogs 8 years and older require a donation of $250.

More about this rescue

Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue in Nebraska is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our all volunteer mission provides a network to shelter, rehabilitate and re-home Siberian huskies in Eastern Nebraska who are displaced, abused, neglected, abandoned or surrendered by their owners. Our goal is to place these dogs in loving, permanent and carefully screened homes.

We also provide education about the characteristics of the Siberian husky and responsible dog ownership. We offer a forum for Siberian husky and other Northern breed enthusiasts to meet and play.

We receive no public subsidies and are funded solely through donations by adopters and supporters. We envision a day when all companion animals no longer face inhumane treatment, abandonment or perish in shelters, a day when there are no more homeless pets.

Siberian Huskies are beautiful. It's hard not to fall in love with their fluffy coats and gorgeous eyes, it's hard not to laugh at their antics and marvel at their independent intelligence. But with the fur comes the shedding, with the antics comes possible destruction and with the independence and intelligence comes a rather nomadic Houdini of a dog that wants to escape and run for the fun of it. Often these dogs are adopted by people who are not prepared for the very traits they were attracted to. Some husky owners are not prepared for the amount of energy these dogs have and the exercise they require. They are intelligent, but often easily bored and not easy to train, they can be stubborn and mischievous. Please research this breed carefully before you choose to adopt a Siberian husky.
