Dog Name: Eden
Breed: Chi mix
Sex: Female
Age: 4
Weight: 9lbs
Medical Needs: None
Housebroken: Does great with a schedule with structure (crate-potty-play-potty-crate...) .
Crate trained: Yes, she loves her crate although now that she has doggy friends in the house she prefers to be crated next to them or in the same room as her humans at night. She has had few accidents in her crate and is making good progress with this!
Good in the car: Yes
Good on a leash: This is an area Eden needs to improve. She more than likely was never leashed and is still learning.
Energy level: Low - Medium she gets zoomies and excited to see her dog friends. She settles in a bed with a bone with the pack too.
Need a fenced in yard: she will need either a fenced in yard or fenced in area since she does not do well on a leash yet. She is a flight risk considering her background.
Dog Friendly: Yes, absolutely!
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Yes, she came from a hoarding situation and does best with other dogs for comfort.
Cat Friendly? Yes. Her current foster home has a cat that weighs almost 3 times her weight. She does not approach the cat.
Kid Friendly: Yes
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Due to her size and timid nature, she would do best with kids older than 7 who can respect her.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?
Eddie is a sweetie! Her foster family says she is the easiest dog yet! She was one of the several dogs rescued from a severe hoarding and inhumane situation in the south . Like many rescued dogs, humans have failed this adorable pup. She appears to of had little socialization, structure nor training yet, despite all that, she has not lost hope on humans. It took her a few weeks to open up to her foster parents. She will now take treats from our hands and really enjoys being held and pet. She is very interested in her environment around her and wants to do well. She will need a patient, loving person to continue show her how a dog *should* be treated!
