Mary Puppins (formerly Vine at CACC) is officially available for adoption! Mary is a young pup who’s energetic and full of love. You would never guess she was originally found as a limping, starving puppy on the streets of Chicago. When she was evaluated by the veterinarian team, they discovered she had an old fracture on one of her legs that has fully healed. She isn’t in any pain but will always have the most unique, bouncy little walk on that leg. Nothing is going to break her stride. And she’s excited to move forward.
Mary is actively working on potty training. She entered her foster home untrained. She has significantly cut down on potty accidents with a regular schedule and positive reinforcement. Most potty accidents now are when she’s crated during her foster mom’s long workday. She’ll get there and is making progress everyday.
Mary Puppins is dog friendly and currently lives with two foster dog siblings, an XL male and female. She’s been learning doggy social skills from both and will even snuggle with her foster dog brother on the floor sleeping sometimes.
Mary is crate trained and has been crated 5 days a week during business hours. She has also been sleeping in her crate at night with no issue.
Mary has loved every human she’s met so far and has lathered each person in kisses. She hasn’t met any kids or cats yet and it is unknown how she would do with either.
Mary Puppins is a sweet girl who has already overcome so much in her young life. She is looking forward to being scooped up by a loving family. Apply to adopt Mary Puppins today!
