My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miiss Remi is a very happy young Lab mix. Remi was removed from her previous home due to neglect and not being wanted or played with by the humans she depended on. Despite this neglect, she is a total love bug and showers humans with hugs and kisses. She loves pleasing and meeting all sizes of humans!

Remi is learning to be a loved dog with humans who want to spend time with her and teach her how to play and truly enjoy life’s adventures. She is very active and loves her walks, playing chase with toys like a dog flirt pole. Remi longs for others to play with her and is so excited when she meets a potential playmate, canine or feline, that she can come on strong but quickly matches the level of play the other canine wants to engage. For cats, she's curious and respects their space. She welcomes playtime with eagerness that makes everyone smile.

Remi is housetrained and super smart. In just a few short weeks she has learned the basic commands of Sit, Lay Down and Leave It. She aims to please and treats are a bonus motivation tool! She deserves unconditional love and patience as she continues to learn new skills.

Remi has that Labrador, full of joy and exuberance with a big, loving heart that makes her such a great by-your-side companion around the house or out and about.  Remi would love an active family who will include her in all the life adventures.

Approximate Birthdate:   April 2023

Adoption Fee: $200

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.

Additional adoption info

The first step to meet or adopt any of our animals is to fill out a no-commitment application online. This is normally followed up with a meeting between your family and the animal, and a home visit. Adoption fees range from $75 to $300. Please visit our website (TarasDream.org) for more information about our adoptable pet including bios, more photos, and each pet's adoption fee. If an animal is not listed on our website, they are no longer available for adoption.

More about this rescue

A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.

Although we are foster home based, we also lease several kennels at a local boarding facility. Although this little "shelter" is allowing us to save many more lives, it is an added expense which is why we rely so heavily on generous donations from caring people in the community.

In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in Pet Finder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fund raise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events, etc.
