Meet Bogie - one of the BESTEST dogs you'll EVER meet. Bogie has a special story, and he surely is a special dog.
Bogie was a stray who wandered into someone's yard. He hung around for close to a yearmaking friends with all the resident dogs, and the lady who lived there. Unfortunately, the lady's husband wasn't keen on having another dog. So, she started looking high and low for an option for this sweet dog that she didn't want anything to happen to. Bogie ended up with us, and right from the start, we was smitten with him. His happy disposition, and striking good looks made us all see why she had tried so hard. Bogie met all the dogs here, and proved himself to be a kind hearted, easy going type of dog. But as he started to become more playful, we noticed he was holding a leg up some of the time. So, it was off to the vet he went. After a thorough exam and xrays, we learned that poor Bobie need not 1, not 2, but THREE leg surgeries. He obviouly had had an accident at some point, and needed FHO surgery. On top of that, both patellas needed surgery too. This would be quite a lengthy ordeal, as each of these surgeries would require 10 weeks of confinement, and then rehab on top of that. Not every dog can we do this for, but he is such a special guy, that, just like the woman who had cared for him before, we could not turn our back on him.
Bogie has endured a lot in his young life. He is only between 2-3 years old now. He's endured pain, lots of crate rest (which he has been a complete angel about), and lots of rehab through multiple walks and water therapy. During that time, we've learned that he loves the water and swimming around in the pool! He's gotten very used to walking on a leash, and he's met many dogs during his stay with us. Bogie is well behaved inside, not a big barker, is housetrained and crate trained and just all all around fun dog to have around. He'll be the type of dog who will make a great family dog as he is good with kids, OR a dog who will be a single person's devoted sidekick. He would be fine as an only dog, (as long as you promise to give him lots of love and attention), or would be just fine with doggie family members. We have no doubt he will continue to be the absolute bestest boy, and after all he's been through, deserves nothing but the best from here on out. The vet says he should be perfectly fine now, to do all the things any other dog would do, and have a bright future. He weighs about 55 lbs.
Bogie is up to date on all his vaccines, is neutered, HW negative and up to date on all preventatives. He's also microchipped. All that he is missing is a family to love and be home forever. It's been a long road for this true blue boy, but his time is here. Bogie's adoption fee is $300.
