Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi everyone! My name is Carbon! I am the sweetest little teddy bear girl that you’ll ever meet, with a hefty dash of laid-back independence.
I was found as a tiny thing with my Mama, brothers, and sister in the welding tank room at Oakland Community College during a blazing heat wave this July.
Thankfully I was scooped up by my cat-crazy foster parents, and now I am living my best life! Although it would be even BETTER if I could find my forever home…
Maybe that’s with you? I am what my foster mom calls a “ceiling cat”. I LOVE being up high and surveying my kingdom. Whether that’s on the highest perch in the cat tree, or up on top of a bookcase, I just can’t get enough of the view!
I am pretty laid back compared to my siblings, although I do enjoy a good tussle! I am very gentle, and the perfect little lady.
I am usually one of the first of my siblings to plop down in a lap for snuggle time, and I love sleeping curled up on my foster parents. ? I can be a little shy, but once I get comfortable with my home, I am sweet as can be!
I would really like to go home with one of my siblings, or go to a home with another younger, playful cat.
Carbon is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here or email adopt@ahsem.org
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
