Personality: Cuddly, Enjoys being held, Friendly toward humans, Friendly toward other animals, Inquisitive, Quiet, Readily allows you to pick it up, Smart, Sweet.
Favorite treats: bell pepper, fennel, Oxbow hay treats (various flavors).
Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Food, Fruit, Veggies, Leafy Greens, Western Timothy & Orchard Mix, Vitamin C Tablets.
Favorite toys and activities: toilet paper tubes, going in and out of her fleece tunnel, chatting with Ribbon .
Potty trained: No.
This animal’s daily routine: Morning vitamin C tablet, pellets, hay and water refresh; poop clean out mid morning; lap/floor time late afternoon/evening; evening salad; hay and water refresh if needed, and poop clean out before bedtime; bedtime treat and top and sides of cage covered with light blanket before lights out.
BFF: Will need a buddy in an adoptive home.
Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: cat - indifferent; guinea pig in other room - can hear and smell her but no direct contact, sometimes will wheek back and forth with her around dinnertime or evening treat time; rabbit in other room - can hear and smell him, but no direct contact, comes to the side of the cage curiously when she hears him, otherwise indifferent.

Other notes: Honeydew Melon is quiet, but loves attention and will often come to the front of her cage when you walk in the room and softly call her name. She's been responsive to 'Honeydew' and 'Little Dew'.
Honeydew Melon was originally surrendered to a vet clinic whose employee then surrendered her to MNPPR because having a female guinea pig in the house with her males was causing them to fight.
Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Roseville PetSmart - 2480 Fairview Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization primarily serving the Twin Cities Metro Area, focusing on education and public outreach. Our intent is to keep all animals in their homes, with their families, whenever possible. We are committed to rescuing those pocket pets that are in jeopardy of being euthanized or are in danger of being abused, left unattended or in other types of vulnerable situations. We ensure all animals receive proper veterinary care, medication and special training for any behavioral issues, as well as to arrange safe, temporary homes for these animals until stable forever homes can be found. Our team is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who work passionately to serve the underrepresented and often misunderstood niche of pocket pets in the overall rescue community and general public.
