Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi, I`m Yahtzee! I’m just the right size and as sweet as they come—not too big to be overwhelming, but not too small either... I’m just right! While I do have some skin allergies, the team at FMAR is currently working on a regimen to help clear them up.
I’m a super social boy who loves playing with other dogs and participating in pack walks. Currently my best doggy friend here at the shelter is Ace! Right now, I’m in a medical foster home recovering from surgery, but I’m still on the lookout for my forever home. My foster mom says I’ve shown huge improvement, and I couldn’t agree more! I’m now officially potty trained and no longer exhibit destructive behaviors or get up on things I’m not supposed to. I’ve also gotten along great with her dog too!
I would thrive in a moderately active home where I have space to run and play in a yard. Daily walks and engaging activities are a must for me. I would do best in a home with children aged 9 years and older, as I can still be a bit jumpy when excited. I’d absolutely love to go to a home with a doggy brother or sister to play with all day!
The volunteers and staff at FMAR absolutely adore me and take me to all kinds of events, so you can be sure I’m great in public and in the car too! If you’re looking for a fun, sweet companion to join your family, I’m your guy! I can’t wait to meet you!
If you would like to meet Yahtzee, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care I have received.
**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
