HI!!! My name is Pollo and I'm such an extraordinarily intelligent boy! When I first arrived at FMAR as a stray, over 2 years ago, I was so skinny that you could see my ribs. I've been waiting all this time for someone to come and meet me so I can show them how wonderful I am!
Almost everyone thought that I was a Pit Bull Terrier mix but when a volunteer did a DNA test on me, guess what they found?!! In the sunlight, you can really see my Rottie coloring. 52% Rottweiler 27% American Pit Bull Terrier 16% American Staffordshire Terrier 3% American Bulldog
I have dreams of becoming an agility dog! I have so much fun when the volunteers set up an obstacle course for me! You should see how high I can jump over a hurdle! I also love just hanging out in the yard and relaxing. Sometimes I'm a little nervous meeting new people, but I LOVE treats so give me a couple and I'm your best friend!
I need an experienced owner who will challenge my brain and body every day. I like the challenge of eating meals from a Kong Wobbler. If you have children, I hope they are older. I have a whole lot of energy, and may be a bit too much for some families. However, a lot of energy also means a lot of LOVE!
If you would like to meet me, please submit an application for me on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. I am neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $250, which covers all of the medical care I have received.
*Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. The adoption process may require multiple visits to the shelter before a dog can go home with you. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. One we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
