My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER NEEDED! PLEASE SHARE! We were just in time to save this handsome boy from being euthanized because the shelter was out of space (yes, that happens daily). We had a foster lined-up for him before we tagged him but you know what they say about the best laid plans. . Take a look at his shelter and freedom videos and see if you can find it in your heart to help Alfie, (FKA Fred in the shelter).
Alfie has been in a temporary foster home in TX for about 2 weeks and is doing wonderfully! He arrives in Colorado on SATURDAY.
He is friendly and social with the other dogs in his foster home but prefers calmer energy. He is slightly intimidated by boisterous play. He is doing good on his house training and is learning that his crate is a good space. He whines for a few minutes but then settles in. His foster family reports he is especially cuddly and loving and adores receiving pets and attention. That said, he is easily startled by loud, sudden noises and will bolt if he is frightened. He needs a secure yard and guardian who is able to keep him safe as he decompresses. Alfie is a around 2 years old according to the shelter vet and appears to at least some Dutch Shepherd in him.
Alfie has a heart full of love waiting to be shared. He is a bit of a wallflower, preferring the company of kind humans and friendly dogs. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he feels comfortable, his playful side shines through!

Alfie will thrive in a calm environment where he can feel secure and loved. He would do well in a home with a patient owner who can help him build confidence.  He just needs time to decompress. No magic wand or super powers are needed. Other friendly dogs would be a bonus, as they can help him come out of his shell!  By giving Afie a second chance, you’re not just saving a life; you’re gaining a loyal friend who will be grateful for every moment you share. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a special dog, Alfie is waiting for you!   Aflie is defintely a mixed breed and we think there may be some Dutch Shepherd.  The vet indicated he is around 2 years old and 45 lbs.

More about this rescue

Circle 2 Animal Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill 501c3 rescue organization dedicated to rescuing homeless, abused and abandoned animals. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, and local veterinarians, we are able to rescue animals in need, providing them with loving care, and placing them in well-matched, carefully screened permanent homes. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs and horses where they are at risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation, left abused, alone and homeless. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered and receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment. We assist animals in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement.
