This helps Red Fern Animal Rescue with pet care costs.
Mo, short for Cosmo, has an origin story that begins in the streets of a city called Denver. Mo was running the streets and sitings of a scruffy, white dog were frequently posted on Nextdoor. A rescuer tried to catch him but he didn't want to be caught- maybe he liked the freedom, or the bad boy life, but his sheer aversion to being near humans indicates he must have had some nasty run ins with humans in his past. His rescuer spent weeks chasing him and following leads on Nextdoor. When he was finally found in Garfield Park, he wasn't able to run away because he was completely covered in icicles and literally frozen to the ground. His rescuer didn't know if he would survive the night- his body temperature was so low that she wrapped him in towels and sat in front of space heater with him all night. Mo is a fighter though, and he survived!
Mo came in very skinny, his little paws were raw and he was matted which took a lot of time and trust before he would allow grooming. It seems he had never known kindness in his life. He was pretty feral, so was quickly taken on by foster sister Bitsy to learn how to dog. He's now come a long way and can even 'come!' Mo is highly intelligent and very food motivated so with a patient and persistent owner he will learn the rest and tricks in no time. You wouldn't know how feral and distrusting of humans he was given how much he likes to cuddle and be carried around.
Mo comes in as a small, at only 12 pounds, but he is mighty! And alpha! Mo looovvveeesss car rides and adventures, even if it's just boring old Home Depot. He loves to go on walks. Matter o' fact, he loves to just be where you are and when it's time to relax, he'll take his place cuddling with you. Mo is crate trained- but isn't currently being crated because he is fully house trained and doesn't chew anything at all. Bonus: Mo doesn't seem to shed at all!
Won't you be the hero that Mo needs and open up your forever home to him?
