My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Coco Chanel
Age: ~ 5 years
Reason for being at BCHS: Rescued from a southern hoarding case discovered after the hurricanes

Meet our adorable group of Chihuahua mixes, recently rescued from a challenging hoarding situation in Florida, where they lived among over 150 other dogs. These sweet pups have experienced a world turned upside down, and now they're seeking loving, patient forever homes in New York. Each dog varies in age, size, and color, but they all share a cautious and timid nature, making them best suited for families without young children. Having had very little socialization or contact with visitors, they will thrive in an environment that respects their need for patience and gentle encouragement.

As they embark on their journey to find comfort and stability, these charming pups will require dedicated adopters who understand the challenges faced by rescue dogs. They will benefit from learning to walk on a leash, becoming potty trained, and gaining confidence through socialization. While their hearts are full of sweetness, it's essential that their new families recognize their need for time and understanding; these little ones deserve more than just admiration for their cuteness-they need a supportive home that is committed to helping them flourish. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a deserving companion, consider adopting one (or more!) of these loving Chihuahuas.
