My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 5 Months Old

Gender: Female

Breed: Terrier Mix

Weight: 26 lbs

Personality: Ember is very friendly, energetic, and playful. She is super food-motivated and loves people. Sweet and cuddly when calm, she loves walks, kisses, and early mornings. Super smart!

Education: Mostly potty trained and responds to the 'go potty' command, using pee pads when needed. Currently working on crate training, can stay in for two hours and sleeps through the night. Good on leash but loves to greet everyone she meets. Will need puppy lessons.

Favorite Activities: Playing with other dogs, running around at the park, long walks to sniff everything, hikes, long lasting treats, loves to cuddle when she’s sleepy

Looking for: Ember would thrive in an active home with other dogs and kids, where she can enjoy plenty of outdoor time and adventure. Playful, energetic, and affectionate, she loves mornings and makes the best wake-up alarm with her kisses. Ember is smart and easy to train, forming strong bonds with her family. She can handle short periods alone in her crate (2-4 hours) and would be a lively, loving addition to a any household.

Adoption Fee: $ 500

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
