My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Westley just has the cutest ears! This little guy can't wait to get comfy in his new home! Westley appreciates a little patience and support while getting comfortable in a new space. Westley came to Foothills as a transfer from another shelter so not much is known about his past.

Westley has been initially a bit timid when our volunteers approach him in his kennel to start out for a walk, but they have told us that Westley responds well when offered treats and after the first few minutes as he begins to relax, they can see his confidence grow. He enjoys gentle petting and will sit with them as he watches the world go by. If Westley is taken to one of the play yards, he may prefer at first to cautiously explore his surroundings and will come back to them for petting and treats.

Westley will likely appreciate the support of a dog friend in his next home. With time and patience, we think this sweet boy has tons of potential to become your new buddy. Come meet Westley today.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter and first vaccines, medical exam, and microchip.

How to Adopt from Foothills Animal Shelter:
Visit the Shelter or one of our offsite adoption partner locations to find a pet. Once you’ve decided on an animal, you should check with staff to see the status and history of the animal. At this time, you can fill out an adoption application and visit with the animal.

We recommend you bring all family members to the Shelter to meet with the animal before you consider adopting. If you are interested in adopting a dog, bring any household dogs to the Shelter to determine if it is a good match. Also, if you rent your home, please bring the pet policy in your lease or rental agreement and contact information for your landlord.

Once your application is reviewed, you can pay the adoption fees and take your new pet home. It may take some time for your new pet to adjust to its new environment. If you have questions or concerns after adopting, please contact us at 303-278-7575.

More about this shelter

Foothills Animal Shelter, formerly known as Table Mountain Animal Center, is an open-admissions facility (never turning away an animal) and one of the largest animal shelters in the metro Denver area – taking in 9,000 animals each year. We are a true community resource that offers a broad variety of animal welfare programs and services. Low-cost spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and dog licensing are some of the services offered to the public.

The organization’s important mission: to provide the best care possible for every animal that enters our doors.

Community, Adopt, Reunite and Educate (C.A.R.E.) are the four key principles of Foothills Animal Shelter.
