Bicycle is a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier x Maltese mix looking for his wheels and his new family! Bicycle came into our rescue with his brothers, Unicycle and Tricycle. They were saved from a hoarding situation and taken to one of our partner shelters. They reached out to us and asked if we could find these brothers amazing forever homes and of course we said yes! Bicycle weighs 18 pounds and has a super soft coat with fabulous coloring. This dude is ready to hit the road and make the most of life with you! Come on down to the bike shop and check out our newest Bicycle!

If we had to describe Bicycle with a Senior Superlative, he would win “Biggest Love Bug”. Bicycle is kind of like a cat when you first meet him. He’s shy so he does best if you let him come to you rather than approaching him first. Once he feels comfortable, you see him come closer and closer until he’s settling down next to you and letting you pet his soft hair. Bicycle is getting used to the world around him and every day is a new adventure as he explores his home and yard. He adores his foster sibling who has helped his confidence grow in leaps and bounds. He’s made so much progress in only a few short weeks and we know his next chapter is going to be one for the history books! Bicycle would be an amazing WFH buddy as he’s happy to hang out quietly as you go about your day. We think he’d be an amazing lap dog once he feels at home with you. What more could you ask for with a cute little face and a fluffy body!

Bicycle wakes up when the resident dog wakes up and follows her outside. Once he does his business, he comes inside for a treat followed by a morning nap in his soft bed. He likes to graze on his kibble throughout the day and tends to play musical chairs among all the soft cushions and beds in his foster home as he lounges. We know he’s got a lot of life behind him but we also know it’s only looking up! He’s still working on his leash walking but he does do some playtime in the yard in the evening before dinner. Once he finishes eating, he settles down for the night in his bed and drifts off to sleep.

Bicycle lives with another dog and would ideally have a furry sibling in his forever home. He gains confidence when he can model his behaviors on another confident dog. Bicycle would benefit from additional training and socialization as he gets more comfortable. He has met new people and does well when they give him time to settle and feel at ease. We know this Bicycle has many trails ahead of him!

Bicycle is only an option for homes who currently own a dog and have experience with shy dogs. Kids should be over the age of 15.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
