My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a calm and loving kitten to brighten your days? Say hello to Saint Lucas! At just 7 months old, this charming little guy is ready to find his forever home and fill it with snuggles and joy.

Saint Lucas is the epitome of a gentle soul. With his soft purrs and sweet disposition, he’s a master at making you feel cherished. Whether he’s lounging by your side or exploring his surroundings, he does it all with a relaxed grace that will melt your heart! He loves gentle head scratches and will reward you with the sweetest purrs!

By welcoming Saint Lucas into your life, you’re not just adopting a pet; you’re gaining a loyal friend who will be by your side. His calm presence will bring serenity and happiness to your everyday routine. If  he’s up for it, some rambunctious playtime is always welcome.

This cat needs to be adopted with a friend -- applications for them as a single cat will not be answered.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
