My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Othos! He's a big, goofy guy that likes to have fun. Othos has liked all the people & dogs that he has met here. He also likes to play fetch and go for long walks. Othos weighs about 86 lbs, and is approximately 2 years old. He knows a few basic commands and passed his cat test, but proved to be a little too cat curious in a home environment. Othos also loved meeting kids, but will need to be supervised around smaller children because he IS big and likes to be as close as possible!
Update on Othos! He was able to go into a home for several days so we could find out more about him. He is housebroken and enjoys riding in a vehicle. He can be protective of the car if someone gets too close. He is very strong and will also need a secure yard with nothing near the fence to be able to jump and get over to play with the neighbors dog uninvited. Othos is very strong and needs some additional work on leash manners. He loves to be loved and to chill with his people. He has been DNA tested, his results are on our Dogs of Del Norte County FB page.

Othos also got a field trip to the beach. This was the report back…”he can easily load into the bed of a truck and travels well, was extremely happy to have the wind in his face. He enjoys human attention and allows you to pet and rub him throughout his body. Othos has zero problem with walking into the water and actually looked like he wanted to play in the surf. He likes to mark territory and wants to travel with his nose to the ground, control of the head will be key to good walks. Othos is strong and took quite a bit of redirecting to get him to walk along my side and after a while he started to settle in on his walk. He is laser focused on other dogs in public and will need a capable handler to redirect his attention to the task at hand. Only praise and petting were used for training purposes.”
Come check out Othos and our other dogs available for adoption at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531. Kennels are open Mon-Fri, 9AM-4PM, or by appointment.
