My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chandra, a sweet and shy pup seeking her forever home. This adorable 6-month-old girl is looking for a loving family to provide her with the attention and companionship she craves. A rescue from Mexico, Chandra is a fixed and vaccinated sweetheart who would thrive in a home with another dog to help her blossom.
Despite her shy nature, Chandra is a playful and affectionate pup who loves to be around people. She enjoys playing with toys and is a quick learner when it comes to commands like "sit." Chandra is also very gentle and has never shown any aggression towards humans or other dogs. Her food-motivated nature makes training a breeze, and she is house-trained with a doggie door as well.
As a rescue, Chandra may be nervous in new situations. With patience and love, she'll gradually come out of her shell. She is still learning to walk on a leash and will benefit from gentle training. While she prefers not to be kenneled, she is currently being crate trained.
Chandra would do best in a home with a fenced yard and another dog. A patient and understanding family who is willing to give her the time and love she needs to thrive would be the perfect match.

Chandra's adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue's care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org

Go meet their pets

Northern Lakes Rescue is foster based so all dogs are being fostered by amazing volunteers across the state of MN. Because of this, we require all meet and greets to be scheduled after an application is submitted.

Our focus after you apply is to get you scheduled to meet the dog within 3 to 7 days.

More about this rescue

Our Vision is to be a voice for those who are voiceless. We hear them with our hearts and give them a voice. Looking into the eyes of a rescued animal will speak volumes; watching those eyes light up will have an everlasting impact on you and the rescued animals.

We aren’t a typical rescue as we don’t take in dogs and put them in kennels until they’re adopted. All dogs we rescue are placed in loving foster homes that teach them to be the best dog they can be.

Our journey doesn’t end with adoption, either. We are here for you to support you in integrating your new member into your home, cheer new triumphs, and help with struggles.
