Hi there! My name is Sofie! I am a sweet but timid girl that unfortunately has had a rough go of it in my 7 years of life. As a puppy, I was attacked by a dog and it left me with broken legs. After it didn't heal right, I had to have another surgery to try and repair it. It was a long road to recovery, but over time, I healed and was all back to normal again - minus a toe, but I don't even notice it anymore! Just as I was starting to feel as good as new, then I got hit with chronic allergy issues. After a bunch of trial and error, the wonderful people at the shelter were able to determine what works for me! My allergies are still something that will need to be kept up with for the rest of my life with medication. I struggled with anxiety while I was here in the shelter, but eventually, I was adopted. I sadly was returned through no fault of my own, so I have found myself back here, the anxiety coming back with it. I am on medication now to help with my anxiety, and I am also on something to help with my hyperthyroidism that I was also diagnosed with. I absolutely HATE my kennel. I promise though that if take me out, I am a COMPLETELY different dog! I instantly relax and ask for all the love and affection I can get! I am friendly with everyone, but sometimes it takes me a second to warm up to new people. Once I do though, I will take all the love I can get! I am fairly mellow, but I will get excited and run and play from time to time as well! I wouldn't mind going to a home with children since I have lived with kids in the past, but I would prefer them to be respectful of my space and on the quieter side to help ease my anxiety. I have also lived with dogs and cats before, so I would be fine doing that again in the future as well! I did have a history of getting into a fight with another dog over some food before though, so we would need to make sure I would be a good match for any dogs I may live with in the future! Think I may be the girl for you? Ask to meet me and see if we are a good match! I would love to get outta this place once and for all! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 43.6 Age: 7yrs 2mths 0wks

HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
